This is an article about a youth boxing program that Ken was a key note speaker:

http://www.convictedartistmagazine.com/boxing-news/632-john-bray-boxing-foundation-clinic-a-success.html

The John Bray Boxing Foundation and LAPD Foothill Jeopardy Program teamed up to hold the 3rd Annual John Bray Free Youth Boxing Clinic this past Saturday in an effort to continue to assist at-risk youth in the area. Both non-profits arranged this free youth boxing clinic because of the issues with kids that are of crucial importance to the community. Many children and young adults face temptations everyday, whether it is drugs, gangs or peer pressure. The free youth boxing clinic was organized to provide a safe haven for the kids as well as give them a chance to listen to very interesting motivational speakers as well as learn a few boxing techniques from former and current professional boxers.

The clinic kicked off with special guests speaking to participants about life skills and attitude development. These guests consisted of both professional boxers and community leaders such as former world champion Rafael Ruelas, Foo Fighter Guitarist Chris Shiflett, former middleweight contender and president of the Retired Boxers Foundation Alex “the Bronx Bomber” Ramos, and keynote speaker Ken Green who is a legal advisor and attorney for the California Boxing Hall of Fame.

Also in attendance was President of the California Boxing Hall of Fame Don Frasier, referee Jack Reiss, former heavyweight contender Jeremy Williams, top trainer and cut man David Martinez, and former Contender TV Series Star and current WBC CABOFE middleweight champion Miguel Espino who showed some pointers to the kids.

After the special guests spoke, the boxing clinic commenced and participants were shown different boxing techniques on heavy bags, speed bags, double end bags and foot work. The clinic wrapped up with a free raffle and kids were given various gifts from our sponsors.

The John Bray Boxing Foundation would like to thank Officer Jose Hererra and Captain Hilsner of the LAPD Foothill Jeopardy Program for all their assistance in the event.

We would also like to graciously thank the following sponsors for making this event a reality: Everlast Worldwide Inc., Powerade, Convicted Artists, Visual Impact Stunt Equipment Company, the International Stunt Association, Remetee Clothing and the Tournament of Contenders.

For video coverage of the event, please access http://vimeo.com/10576106

  1. Dorothy Weinberg says:

Your website is terrific and contains great information and videos.

  2. John Bray says:

Ken has been a friend and inspiration, I’m so proud of him. I am a better man because of Ken.

  3. David says:

Unbelievable, it’s a pleasure to see someone like this give back to the community the way Mr. Green does. Those in the public eye, actors, politicians etc could learn a thing or two. Great going!
    David Cohen

  4. Marlene Chudnov says:

Kudos to you, Kenny! You are inspiring young people to choose a path that will bring them a successful life. By sharing your life experiences with youth you are showing them that there is a positive path to follow and that nothing is impossible as long as they work hard, live straight, and follow their dreams.
    Marcy

  5. Adam Weinberg says:

Ken, I just finished your book after two days. You have lived a truly inspiring life. You are a perfect example of what can be accomplished through perseverance and hard work. Our younger generations can learn a lot from your experiences. They show that success can be achieved by hard work and “entitlements” are an unnecessary crutch. You are a true warrior.

  6. ken green says:

    Thanks so much Adam.

  7. Kathy Moorehead says:

Many people climb the ladder to success in the USA, but so many people today forget to look back down the ladder and lend a hand to help pull someone else up. Ken is looking back and showing our most important asset, our children, a way to believe that the American dream still really does apply to them, even the poorest of the poor. Believing it’s true is half the battle. I work with kids, so I know how important it is for everyone who has made it to go back and talk to kids, even if just once. Thanks for believing in the dream, Ken, and doing something to inspire children.
